I was scheduling a patient for laparoscopy at my office – many years ago … “As soon you have you menses give me a call so I can set a date for your surgery.. any questions” “No doctor” A few weeks later, I get a call through my emergency number at my home – “Doctor – It’s Anita - I started bleeding a few moments ago” – “How many weeks pregnant are you” “I am not pregnant doctor” “Oh – how long ago was the surgery – or did you have a biopsy at our office? -- I am sorry – who is this..” “No – doctor – it’s Anita – you are going to do a laparoscopy – you said to call you as soon I started bleeding – I know it’s 3 in the morning but I did not want to mess things up” A long pause – “Ummm -- sure Anita drop by our office in a few hours from now” Ef

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
