I know of several who have gone 43 + and one who >>>went 44 + 1. All with good outcomes.

I only know one, she went to 43+6, again good outcome, she had daily monitoring from 42 weeks followed by a preciptate birth (during one of the monitorinf sessions as it happened) All three of her previous babies had been between 41 and 42 weeks so she waas expecting a longer gestation after, not that long though.

However in the situation given I can't see anyone argueing with the transverse lie at 42 weeks not agreeing that a section is the way to go (had one woman come in recently for induction, baby had changed from cephalic to transverse overnight - probably the only time so far I've wished we induced a day earlier)

Maybe some women would want to try ECV (or possibly moxibustion) but not for a VBAC

I'd be another one declining induction at 39 weeks, had an argument with my second about 41 weeks (I wanted to wait till 42 weeks - she was born spontaneously at 41+1) Claire

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
