Re: Cesarean hysterectomyFrom: ainsron (ainsron@sbcglobal.net)Fri Oct 14 15:18:55 2005
You certainly have an adequate reason for hysterectomy. The ultimate decision on whether or not to perform it at the time as a cesarean section rests with you and the patient. If she willing and knowingly takes the risks of doing it now vs. doing it later with another surgery, I would do it now. A scheduled c-hyst is less risky than the unscheduled c-hyst we do for complications at the time of C/S. Ronald E. Doing a TAH 6 months postpartum will be her 4th laparotomy. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
