Same here. I got lifetime certification and re-certified voluntarily in 1995. So for general, I don't have to recertify ever, I guess.

For MFM, I passed after they did away with lifetime certification and recertified in 1995 also (even though my time wasn't up yet) and am 'good' to 2010.

So I wonder where to go from here. LOL

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
