Re: Cervical insufficiency vs preterm uterine contractions or both??From: Efrain Ramirez (eramirezt@coqui.net)Mon Sep 12 06:08:25 2005
F/U – patient with twins 18 weeks – bleeding- short cervix, etc.. was discharged at 19 weeks and a few days on tocolotytics –seen at our office –since discharged - no further bleeding – fetuses Ok – it would be nice to see a RCT on twins with signs of preterm uterine contractions below 20 weeks been treated with standard tocolysis – it makes sense to me to lower the threshold of the gestational age on twins for the treatment with tocolytics – threatened abortion and preterm labor is a matter of semantics in these situations – IMHO… Thanks for your input.. I’ll keep you posted.. Ef

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
