I think she's been treated. Continue paps q4-6 months. Data shows that most AGUS paps are caused in fact by squamous lesions.

39 YO P2002, always normal paps, has a Mirena IUD and subsequently has an AGUS pap.

The IUD is pulled before colposcopy because "I was going to have it out anyway; I don't like it" despite my reassurances that the two weren't related.

Colposcopy--adequate, visually CIN III. The area covered by the lesion was small, but certainly not totally excised by the biopsy. Exam otherwise normal.

Tissue:

Cervical biopsies--the worst was CIN II-III ECC: normal Endo biopsy: normal

LEEP done 3 weeks later: CIN I, clear margins.

Any thoughts? I have mine. . .

Garry

PS--college senior at Tulane (New Orleans) left Saturday to come home, 2 days before Katrina hit and one day after arriving for fall semester. Our nest was empty (the youngest went away to school the same week) for 14 hours total! As are many of his friends, he's taking classes elsewhere/locally.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
