Pregnant patient wanted to know whether it was okay to have her teeth whitened when she gets her braces off while she's pregnant. I told her I was totally stumped on that one. My gut instinct is that it's okay, but can't say that I've kept up with the cosmetic dentistry literature.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
