The news reports are showing people drinking hard on Bourbon Street, planning to ride out a Category 5 hurricane within 2-story buildings. Having gone through 3 hurricanes last year which were relatively minor compared to Katrina, I assure you my family will be *gone* if a category 5 storm heads our way, regardless if I have to stay at the hospital. I'm not sure why otherwise able-bodied people stay in the face of such a huge, dangerous storm. I think we're used to our homes being a place of safety, and it seems impossible that wind could destroy a home. Estimates are that 60-80% of homes in New Orleans will be destroyed by this storm. New Orleans is a wonderful, historic city, and I hope Katrina does not inflict severe damage. Dr. Joe, if your crew needs help after the hurricane, let us know.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
