forgot .... ppd was negative....good call Joe. I had a great attending once, one of those mythical mentor types one reads about, named Edward Kendig, who was an interesting fellow, a very dignified and understanding person, who managed to keep one foot in academia and one very firmly in private practice. (He edited/authored a text of Respiratory Diseases in Childhood.) He loved to say "whenever you can get your hands on the patient" whenever anyone asked what were his recommendations for tb screening.
