Re: caulophyllum thalictroides tablets+ IOLFrom: Len2976@aol.comTue Aug 16 20:14:27 2005
Lorrie-- Thank you for your comments. I was frustrated by the fact that not only did this patient decide to use something without discussing it with any of the CNMs or MD, but also used it for no good reason other than being tired of being pregnant at 38+ weeks. It was interesting that she never discussed a desire for IOL with any of us, and I wonder if her sister talked her into it. The sister was very defensive about the tablets and the dosage she used, saying she had gotten the recipe from a book "Natural Mothering." The patient herself did not seem to have any desire for any type of natural experience and asked for an epidural as soon as possible. She also seemed relieved to have a C/S. Lenora McCall, CNM

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
