Re: positve hpv dnaFrom: Larry Glazerman (l.glazerman@rcn.com)Fri Jul 29 08:00:45 2005
We just had a journal club on this issue. The official ACOG/Preventative Services Task Force recommendation is in the patient over 30 who you do Pap + HPV, with a positive HPV, negative PAP, repeat both studies in 6-12 months. At that time,: Negative pap, negative HPV - routine followup Negative pap, Positive HPV - colposcopy ASCUS pap, Negative HPV - Routine followup Pap >ASCUS, any HPV - colposcopy. Hope this helps

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
