High risk of Preterm labor, IUGR, Breech at term. Septum usually only repaired if repeated preterm delivery. Ronald E. Ainsworth, MD, FACOG -----Original Message----- From: ob-gyn-l@obgyn.net [mailto:ob-gyn-l@obgyn.net] On Behalf Of claire Sent: Monday, July 11, 2005 11:21 AM To: Multiple recipients of list OB-GYN-L Subject: [Norton AntiSpam] uterus didelphys complications Woman is 20 weeks pregnant in her left uterus (2 x uterus, 2 x cervix, complete vaginal septum) septum is quite 'stretchy' (right uterus has been squashed to the extent you can no longer see it on ultrasound - it was clearly there at 13 weeks) I know she is at high risk of premature labour, but would there be any chance of a vaginal birth? (mum would prefer it, if possible - or at least labour first) What are the additional risks? Would the septum definately tear (and if so would it need repairing?) In case you can't tell, I've never come across this before. What would happen to the other cervix and uterus during the labour?

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
