I gather that this happened in the USA. If I was the mum I'd sue him for assault. Secondly where were the people in the room and why was no one being her advocate and demanding he stop at once? If he was going to do an actively managed third stage was there no oxytocic drug given i.m? We aren't perfect over here in the UK but if I saw a dr doing anything to hurt a woman it would be my duty as a midwife to stop him. Gail

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
