Here's where we separate the apples and oranges.

1) Having a healthy mother and baby is an outcome goal which is independent of how good, bad, or a**holish the "caregiver" is.

2) Treating a patient poorly during medical care, whether obstetric, gynecologic or podiatric, is not good, no matter what the outcome.

Those two topics are independent and should discussed separately. Unfortunately, when emotion raises its head, they get stirred together and nothing is accomplished.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
