Stronger, saner, more in touch with both the physical and spiritual aspects of myself and the world around me. I know I have been a better mother because of the empowerment I received through that experience. Fear of litigation and career-ending trauma is real. I've been there and I completely understand why many physicians are choosing to walk away from the clinical challenges that once made obstetrics both terrifying and fulfilling. Marvellous skills are dying - elegant forceps, vaginal breech, manual rotation. It's easy to understand why it is happening, but it is nonetheless very sad.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
