Dr. Robinson is an accomplished urogynecologic surgeon practicing in Topeka, Kansas. He has recently authored a supplement for release in the May issue of OBG Management entitled "Viable Vision for Vaginal Hysterectomy: Next Generation RF Technology Reduces Barriers to Vaginal Hysterectomy". In the supplement Dr. Robinson discusses the enabling role technology can play in helping physicians convert to less invasive procedures for patients requiring hysterectomy. To see his surgical technique and the enabling technology on video visit Hysterectomy University on the web and click on "An Improved Vaginal Hysterectomy Procedure" to view the procedure.

Dr. East is an accomplished laparoscopic surgeon who will demonstrate the use of a new device he developed to help physicians operate in a less invasive manner and with increased confidence. His design may enable many more physicians to perform a vaginal hysterectomy with laparoscopic assistance by beginning vaginally and completing the "difficult" portion of the case laparoscopically.

Dr. East will discuss how a physician may employ vaginal and laparoscopic surgical skills that most gynecologists already possess even if they have not already embarked upon performing advanced laparoscopic surgery.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
