Re: Breast cancerFrom: ainsron (ainsron@sbcglobal.net)Wed May 4 09:12:07 2005
What's her age? A thickened endometrium is not very reliable in a premenopausal woman. If you are concerned, do an EMB. If she is estrogen receptor positive, oophorectomy can improve survival, but that comes somewhere down the line after chemo, radiation and after discussions with her medical oncologist. Ronald E. I have a friend of a friend that has Stage 4 treated with chemo/radiation. She now has been found to have a thickened endometrium and has had a fairly brisk period. I don't know anything about tumor markers, etc with this case. My questions are- would anyone recommend hyst/BSO? I would suggest EMB at the least. Are normal cycles riskier given the stage of breast cancer? What is the overall survival for Stage 4 breast cancer? Thanks, Glen
