The covering physician did the right thing. If she were confortable doing the tubal--based on her assessment of the patient--then it would have been OK. If not, whether due to lack of a relationship, lack of papers, bad karma, whatever, then she was smart not to have done it. This case isn't worth enough to the attorney; the letter was a fishing expedition. Garry

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
