Re: GEN: How do insurance carriers do this? (long)From: Charlie Chambers (cchamber@gorge.net)Sun Feb 27 13:24:40 2005
We have a few payers that we have to deal with that won't accept pain as reasons for a scope. They'll take endometriosis like Garry was alluding to, but kind of tough preoperatively. I think the difficult aspect of this whole reimbursement issue is trying to apply logic to the insurance industry, liability or health or otherwise. Is kind of like the old adage of trying to teach a pig to sing... ************************************************************************ ** Charlie Chambers -- Hood River, OR USA cchamber@alumni. rice. edu

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
