So are you saying that birth is not brain surgery and that even the housekeeper can do it?(LOL) Big difference between a planned homebirth with equipment, bleeding meds, fetal monitoring, ect and an elevator!! But very amusing. :) It does however make me reflect upon generations prior to us that had friends and family as birth attendants, including your own family lineage. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
