Re: Going into medicineFrom: Henry Gregor (henrygregor@yahoo.com)Sun Jan 30 22:09:22 2005
What's that old line about it "...might be a crooked poker game, but its the only poker game in town"? Might be frustrating beyond belief at times, but like Art's 459gm survivor, we just keep playing the game, looking for and enjoying those occasional great outcomes. Frustrating as it may be, it still provides some great satisfactions. Hank "Lynn D. Montgomery, M.D." <apgar10@montanadsl.net> wrote: Listers, Interesting story. When I was a third year medical student, I was required to do a family practice rotation in a rural community in my home state of North Dakota. During that rotation, a Cardiologist from Fargo was doing a satellite, visiting the small town in which I was rotating. He commenced to tell me about how stupid I was to be going into medicine, that the financial rewards of the profession were gone and that he was glad to be at the end of his career. This current thread reminded me of that experience so I looked up his clinic's website - low and behold, he is still practicing... Lynn Lynn D. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
