Re: WSJ - Dentists Out-Earning Primary Care DocsFrom: Anna Meenan, MD (annam@uic.edu)Wed Jan 12 19:11:24 2005
Um, yeah, that's about what I thought. A few years back, an orthopedic surgeon spent 4 hours trying to straighten the bones in my feet (and did a darn good job of it too), followed by 4 or 5 post-op visits for re-taping and re-dressing, and around the same time an oral surgeon spent 20 minutes yanking my kid's wisdom teeth and never saw him again. Guess who got paid more? (and, guess which bill I ended up making several phone calls to get straightened out and paid?)

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
