Re: Dr. Braun=breast CA and GYNFrom: GIN11153@aol.comMon Dec 6 12:23:30 2004
Actually, they do an ultrasound to see the characteristics of the suspect area and then they do a core needle biopsy under ultrasound guidance. Fine needle aspiration is used more for a cyst then a suspected malignancy-this according to my general surgeon husband who does breast surgery in addition to my surgeon who is director of the breast center at UCI Medical Center. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
