Re: Hospital CBE Classes

Ther are definite advantages in a small town. There are not enough patients for there to be any non-hospital CBE classes. Since all the CBE classes are taught by nurses who also work at the hospital - and all people go (all social classes etc) - the classes are very thorough. They do sometimes have a separate class for the 15-18 yo as their issues are usually a bit different than the 25-35+ yo women.

The Doula program is also through the hospital and the single group of 4 sho deliver there. Since the doula program was started after I was squeezed out I can't say how it impacts medical decisions - but I bet here it isn't so adversarial. I don't think the women pay for it - I think it is paid for by the hospital. But I could be wrong there!

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
