Actually, they are probably getting their misdirected info from the doulas. I was on a few doula listservs until I signed off in exasperation as they were saying how they tell the moms to refuse antibiotics for Group B Strep as the 'antibiotics are dangerous', etc. Many hospitals have recently been not allowing doulas in L&D as sometimes they do tell their patients to refuse necessary treatments. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
