Re: Abnormal pregnancyFrom: Dr. John Provatopoulos B.Sc. M.D.C.M. F.R.S.C. (johnprov@sympatico.ca)Sun Nov 21 17:23:05 2004
HCG rising slowly, latest values: 11/12--800, 11/15--1100, 11/18--1500. Uterus empty, no free fluid, no symptoms. B HCG 1100 to 1500 in 3 days , yes still possible its a good(I use term good Vs. viable) pregnancy but not looking good. Continuing to follow with close Follow up is O.K., the issue would be settled in 5-7 days no matter what you choose to do, for some people close follow up may be hospital admission. Maybe Garry can give us some follow up the trophoblast should be dieing off right about now and the patient should have some pain, some times it dies off slowly some times you end up with a belly full of blood if it dies off quickly or at the wrong spot.

Take care, John

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
