Today's Ob-Gyn Grand Rounds was given by a Clinical Professor of Internal Medicine, Director of Nuclear Cardiology concerning recent developments in the Treatment of Essential Hypertension. Covering alpha blockers, beta blockers, calcium channel blockers, ACE inhibitors, the take home message was that the most recent studies concluded the optimal choice for initial treatment is - Thiazide diuretics! Back to the Future indeed...

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
