Re: Venous sinus thrombosis and Pregnancy? From: Robert J. Carpenter, Jr. MD (zygote@icsi.net)Thu Oct 28 22:11:10 2004
Dan, the largest serious of saggital vein thrombosis are in the Indian Medical literature. Most are associated with PIH and likely dehydration from labor. I would be most concerning if preeclampsia/PIH were to develop. If there is complete occlusion and there is no impairment of any drainage route then the use of heparin would be appropriate. Has she had an MRA which would be a better method for assessment of vascular integrity and patterns of flow? I've not seen this specific set of facts before. Bob On 28 Oct 2004 at 21:08, R. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
