Latex allergyFrom: RModugno@aol.comThu Aug 26 21:16:23 2004
Listers: Our hospital has the protocol of treating all patients who are allergic to avocados, kiwi fruit, bananas, and "tree nuts" as people with potential latex allergy. This is irregardless of whether the patient has had numerous pelvic or other exams outside the hospital with impunity.( Sounds like typical American defensive medicine to me!) What does your hospital do, or your office, for that matter? Robert Modugno MD MBA FACOG Marietta, GA http://www.novaobgyn.yourmd.com

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
