Re: Gyn: tough menorrhagia caseFrom: art fougner, md (evsono@pipeline.com)Thu Aug 12 08:30:02 2004
Ashley I've diagnosed a few with Ultrasound/ Color Doppler... the appearance is that of cystic spaces in the myometrium which are quite vascular on CDI/CDE ... If present, can perform ateriogram for confirmation followed by embolization for therapy should your patient wish uterine conservation. Hope this helps. Also, the patients I've seen presented with DUB refractory to the usual therapy, so not all present with catastrophic hemorrhage. (thank God.) Art

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
