Re: Kerry/Edwards Tort ReformFrom: David Priver, MD (dpriver@aol.com)Thu Aug 5 13:35:56 2004
First of all, I don't see any reason not to discuss politics. It's certainly a current and relevant issue. I really have trouble with my OB colleagues supporting a political party which has made it clear that it would put doctors who do abortions in jail. The Republican party is utterly controlled by religious extremists who will not be happy until women are back on kitchen tables. Moreover, they aren't true conservatives. They spend us into the poorhouse and have completely abandoned the Jeffersonian principle of keeping big government out of peoples' personal lives. As to Kerry and Edwards bringing in government funded health care for all, we'd all be a lot better off if that happened. Do you really think the current health insurance industry is your friend? Don't you think it's time we joined the rest of the civilzed world in seeing to it that everyone has some level of health insurance? The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
