Williams 12th Edition 1961 Pg. 1009Huntington is the procedure described with Allis Clamps. "Haultain" is incising the cervical ring posteriorly and then elevating the uterus and repairing the incision. & Spinelli is the same operation done vaginally. Anybody ever tried to do a Spinelli????

I had to get my Medical School books out to find that edition of Williams. It has a beautiful picture of the inverted uterus seen from above, that isn't in the more recent editions.

Dan, I think it is the Holtain operation. The hydrostatic method is O'Sullivan's.

We did not use allis clamps in our case because the uterus was very boggy - didn't want to lacerateit. The deep figure of 8's held with hemostats worked well.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
