I have run into this problem. I have had pos IGM (cross reactivity) and then have checked IGG Type I & II. Over several months the IGG has remained negative! Has anyone seen this. The pathologist and I believe it may be due to the pregn and immune system. (lack of seroconversion) We checked the husband, he also had IGM and IGG Type I positive, but IGG Type II neg. She had some vague vulvar and vaginal symptoms HSV culture negative, but no real good ulcers to test. (mac-pap rash) It has been frustrating consulting her without seeing one of the IGG (type I or II) becoming positive. Any Thoughts? Guy Venezia M.D. (OB/GYN)

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
