Re: Op Ed Piece in Legal TimesFrom: DoctorJoe@aol.comThu Jul 15 15:55:12 2004
In a message dated 7/15/2004 2:35:06 PM Central Standard Time, rbraun@iupui.edu writes: One of the reasons for the decline and fall of the medical profession in the US is exactly because physicians fancied themselves "businessmen". Just my opinion ... I could be wrong. Didn't I post something like this before? They tell the law students (at least the studentshere in La.) that: Law USED TO BE thought of as a profession. Law NOW is becoming a (just another) business. Law IS IN DANGER OF being thought of by everyone as a racket. What they want is, to be considered a profession again. To that end, there's an ethics and professionalism movement in La. in the legal profession, as there is elsewhere in the country. I think there is a similarity in Medicine. We need to do the same thing. Joe P.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
