Certainly, I have to consider the candidate who will be most beneficial with my profession but I also have to take into account my children's future, the state of our environment, national security, domestic policy, and a whole host of other issues. None of them individually are any less or more important than our current malpractice crisis. With regards to malpractice reform, Edwards is definitely disadvantageous. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
