No - that's a bit sophisticated for our situation - just large abdominal swabs pushed in until the pressure is sufficient.

Further progress on this case - re-opened her Monday morning to get the packs out. Totally dry, free of haemorrhage, but we discovered why the urine output was so poor - clots blocking the catheter and urine oozing out the suture line to be sucked out through the vacuum drain. Still the bladder was very distended. We put in a supra-pubic so as to have a through and through drainage and rinsing capability, and she is a different woman now! Steve

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
