Med Mal Rx: Soak All Plaintiffs' Lawyers The Connecticut Law Tribune The Orthopedic Specialty Group has put hundreds of Connecticut trial lawyers on notice that fees for their court appearances are about to soar -- to a startling $12,000 per day -- due to rising malpractice insurance costs. Kathleen Nastri, president of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association, said the rate hike "looks like payback" after doctors failed to win caps on medical malpractice awards this past legislative session.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
