Reglan. The dosing for this indication is 15 mg. TID x 2 weeks, then 10 mg. TID x 1 week, then 5 mg. TID x 1 week. The course can be repeated once, as indicated. This medication regimen alone will not increase milk supply. There must be adequate stimulation of the breasts, as well, by pumping and/or breastfeeding. Many women believe that the meds alone will be a "magic bullet" that will keep them from having to work to support a milk supply.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
