Evaluated externally by several physicians without any abnormal findings. Solid family without indications of sexual abuse. No evidence of any hormonal effects (precocious, etc) Exam under anesthesia reveals normal external genitalia. Small opening in the hymen and does not appear consistent with penetration. Nasal speculum exam allows complete visual of the vagina without evidence of foreign body. Transperineal ultrasound done at the same time reveals a normal (small) uterus. Cultures done prior to the exam and they are pending. Any thoughts if the culture doesn't reveal anything... Lynn D. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit.
