Re: Urinary Retention PostpartumFrom: Gerald P. Rodríguez (geraldpr@cybermesa.com)Sat Apr 17 08:40:38 2004
"Never" is such an ugly word, Ron. Don't give up yet. I would suggest trying 4 weeks of continuous Foley drainage, followed by one week of Urecholine (bethanechol chloride) with the Foley still in place, followed by Urecholine at max doses and intermittent self-cath. This is an extreme case, and may not work, but you have nothing to lose. Gerald P. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
