Luckily we have respectful back-up relationships with our MDs in the area, so we don't wait until there is a crisis to consult and, when necessary, transfer care. I'm pretty sure the local blood bank is run by Red Cross. I have yet to see a PP infection in 3 years, and so far, pit has taken care of the handful of cases where bleeding can't be stopped using fundal pressure, nipple stimulation, or herbs.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
