Gail I think at this gestation where you clearly have viability, your taking too much of a risk to send this patient home. MAYBE an option in an early second trimester pregnancy that is previable. Also, serial white counts are not sensitive nor specific in this situation. BTW, the old yogurt and lactobacillus has no scientific basis. Vaginal flora does require lactobacillus but these are a type that essentially make hydrogen peroxide which the yogurt/acidophilus, and lactobacillus tablets do not. BTW, you are not "just a nurse". You have more in the trenches experience than quite a few of us. No substitute for experience. ************************************************************************ **** Charlie Chambers Hood River, OR cchamber@alumni.rice.edu "Almost anything you do will seem insignificant but it is very important that you do it....You must be the change you wish to see in the world" -- Mahatma Ghandi. ************************************************************************ ******* On Mar 10, 2004, at 1:00 PM, GIN11153@aol.com wrote:

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
