The fluid was mucous type and the cytology report is awaited. My Question is what is the further management? If the cytology is benign how long can one wait before definitive surgery? Can this surgery be done laparoscopically ? Does it have to be Oophorectomy? Or can a cystectomy be performed? I would like opinions from the group. Thanks, Dr.R.Mani I think a definitive surgery is definitely indicated with the presence of such a big cyst, yes it can sure be done laproscopically, and cystectomy would be the treatment of choice. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
