A 23 year old unmarried lady had aspiration for what was diagnosed by Ultrasound as a simple serous cyst of 15cm with no loculations. The fluid was mucous type and the cytology report is awaited. My Question is what is the further management? If the cytology is benign how long can one wait before definitive surgery? Can this surgery be done laparoscopically ? Does it have to be Oophorectomy? Or can a cystectomy be performed? I would like opinions from the group. Thanks, Dr.R.Mani
