Its not just Tricare but some other HMOs as well. They won't authorize U/S for dating or anomaly screen or anything with the word"screen" in the diagnosis. There must be another indication such as "unknown LMP," "abdominal pain," or "size/date disparity." I wish ACOG would take an official position that all pregnant women need a dating U/S and an anomaly screen. Lenora McCall, CNM

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
