Its not just Tricare but some other HMOs as well. They won't authorize U/S for dating or anomaly screen or anything with the word"screen" in the diagnosis. There must be another indication such as "unknown LMP," "abdominal pain," or "size/date disparity."

I wish ACOG would take an official position that all pregnant women need a dating U/S and an anomaly screen.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit.
