Re: Billing

I do all my own billing for myself and my birth center. I have the telephone consult codes with definition and weekend codes. If the insurance company asks for a copy of records for the date you are billing for an office visit then you need to document the visit. Also, when the patient gets the EOB and didn't see you, then calls their insurance to ask what the bill is for, I am not sure how that would work. I know an OB who has on his after hours recording that they do not call in any prescriptions after hours or on the weekend.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
