I work for the hospital practice that gets any deliveries without a provider in house at the time of delivery. We do 80 to 90 deliveries a month, and generally only 3-5 of these are "courtesy" deliveries. Most of them happen because the doc or CNM hasn't been called and the patient hits the door ready to deliver. Barbara J. Orza, MSN, CNM Atlanta

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
