Hi Charlie

On your kind request I am letting you know how this patient is progressing. The doctor's instructions after having seen the Ultrasound is to "let nature takes its course"

The main thing that concerns me is that even though the bleeding has tapered off, that does not necessarily mean resolution of the situation. A piece of tissue can remain there and appear as if its healed, bleeding stops and all looks fine. Underneath that piece of tissue there can be an infection occuring which if her immune system is not strong enough to counter, will end up as problems in weeks to come. We shall see.

I hope her doctor made the right desicion. It appears she made that desicion based on clinical presentation, not the ultrasound results.

I think doctors working with OBs and Gyn are brave people. Its a " diagnostic nightmare" in my mind. Russian roulette would be another way to put it. !

Thanks a lot.

KInd regards

Joanne

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
