I know that is the reason.

If we are going to go that route - then I suppose any one who is not a transplant candidate should not get dialysis.

Even though it costs less in $$ - there are other problems with the recommendations. In addition to the higher incidence of invasive cancer -- as you know -- they end up not doing other health things.

Like you - I tell them that it is cheaper - and the studies show no excess loss of life because the cancer is still caught early enough to cure it - but that there is indeed more cancer.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
