Re: Pelvicol Dermal Implant During Pelvic ReconstructionFrom: Michael J. Wolpmann, MD (elvisdoc@comcast.net)Wed Dec 31 18:05:51 2003
Hi Myer, Thanks for your response. Have not noted the stiffness you heard of with porcine grafts to date but will watch for this. Increased resistance or 'stiffness' may actually be a plus for preventing recurrent prolapse in these patients but we will have to wait and see some long term data. Have not been comfortable with reported erosion rates on prolene mesh vs porcine, tho I have to admit I have yet to see a TVT mesh erode in over 350 placed to date, so this turn out to be a false concern with Gyne-Mesh, which is essentially a larger TVT mesh, I am told. Appreciate your input and please let me know your impressions of the prolene mesh A/P. thanks, Michael

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
